Our Story
Sustain Video was built on a simple belief: that the best sports content comes from people who really care about sport.
Sam Roberts left BBC Sport to prove it. Tom Bowker walked away from leading Formula 1’s global digital team to back him. Together, they’ve spent three years assembling a team of passionate producers, editors and motion designers who share that same instinct.
The result is a team that some of the world’s biggest sporting and children’s brands trust with the stories that matter most to them.

Meet the Team
Sam Roberts
Co-Director & Creative Lead
Sam founded Sustain Video in 2021 with a clear ambition to build a world-class digital video production company. Eight years at the BBC – across Sport, Children’s and Entertainment, including the Olympics and Wimbledon – gave him the craft. The Peak District gave him the reason to do it differently.

Co-Director & Executive Producer
Tom spent six seasons at Formula 1, building their digital video team from the ground up during a period of record audience growth. He joined Sustain in 2022 because he wanted to make content he believed in. A journalism graduate, BBC Production Trainee and former commercial radio presenter, Tom now leads Sustain’s motorsport output and oversees scripted digital storytelling for some of the world’s biggest sporting properties.
Tom Bowker on LinkedinDominic White
Senior Producer & Video Editor
Sustain’s first full-time hire and still one of its most versatile operators. Dominic trained for eight years at the BBC before joining Sam at the start, and has since craft edited multi-part documentaries, led live event production and taken senior roles across major football and tennis accounts. The kind of Producer/Editor who’s brilliant at everything and makes everyone else’s job easier.
Katherine Stephens
Motion Designer
Katherine spent 12 years freelancing for some of the most demanding names in global media including CNN, The Guardian and BBC – building a reputation for motion work that doesn’t look like everyone else’s. She joined Sustain in 2024 as the company’s first in-house Motion Designer, bringing a level of quality to the team’s output that takes our content to the next level.
Millie Thomas
Video Editor & Motion Designer
Millie started in broadcast at one of the UK’s leading post-production houses before moving into editing at film companies across Greater Manchester. She joined Sustain in 2023 and has since added motion graphics to her toolkit – now working across short-form and long-form content with an eye for detail that shows in every cut.
Matt McGladdery
Producer & Video Editor
Matt began his career at BBC Sport covering the Olympics and World Cup, before broadening into written and video output across top-flight football and rugby league. At Sustain he combines premium feature production with fast-turnaround short-form content – the kind of range that makes him a massive asset on whatever he’s working on.
Dan Goulding
Producer & Video Editor
Dan arrived at Sustain in early 2025 with BBC credentials across Children’s TV, the World Cup and Olympics behind him. Calm, reliable and technically sharp, he’s already become a trusted pair of hands across several of Sustain’s most demanding projects.
Laurence Fryer-Taylor
Motorsport Producer & Video Editor
Laurence built his career in professional cycling content – working with national bodies and international race organisations – before following a lifelong passion back to motorsport when he joined Sustain at the start of 2025. His instinct for short-form storytelling, and for getting something genuine out of athletes on camera, makes him a natural fit for to lead our content with the WRC.
Emma Butler
Motorsport Producer
Emma’s background spans BBC Radio, top-flight rugby league, professional football and rolling sports news – a range that gives her both editorial sharpness and event-day composure. She joined Sustain in 2025 to lead on Formula 2 and Formula 3, and has already made it her own.
Connor Casey
Junior Video Editor
Connor graduated in 2024 and joined Sustain shortly after. He came in with born-ready editing instincts, a feel for social content and a feel for editorial beyond his years. He’s now cutting features and supporting live motorsport weekends across multiple accounts and has a bright future ahead.
Erin WIlkinson
Junior Video Editor
Erin graduated from Sunderland with a first-class degree and an RTS award for documentary production before joining Sustain in 2025. She edits short-form and feature content with a precision that suggests the awards won’t stop there.
Nicki Read
Admin Assistant
Nicki keeps the operation running. With a background in retail marketing and a talent for making busy people’s lives easier, she handles production management and office coordination – and leads our charitable Sustain Giving programme.
Lewis Porter
Producer & Video Editor
Lewis has spent his career making content for some of sport’s most recognisable governing bodies – documentary, commercial and digital – and brings senior-level experience to Sustain’s most varied briefs. As comfortable shooting as he is editing and producing, Lewis is a genuine all-rounder and an asset to any production he’s working on.
Tom Poxon
Video Editor
Tom is the definition of an all-rounder – equally at home on a shoot or in an edit suite, and with a background that spans sport, entertainment and award-winning podcast production. He joined Sustain to work across a wide portfolio, and rarely gets the same brief twice.
Sam Beach
Junior Video Editor
Sam came to Sustain in 2024 with a visual instinct developed through photography and digital video, and a style that’s uniquely his own. He’s already cutting features, hype edits and promos across our sporting clients beyond his years.
Jack House
Junior Video Editor
Jack joined in 2025 with a first-class degree, event production experience and a long-standing obsession with motorsport. He now works across the WRC and single-seater racing content – the rare case of someone whose passion and job description are exactly the same thing.
