CARBON NEUTRAL PRODUCTION

Sustain Video is a certified carbon neutral company with PAS2060 accreditation – an internationally recognised standard administered by the British Standards Institute. Here are some of the steps we have taken to further reduce our carbon output:

Our office in New Mills’ historic Torr Vale Mill is heated by a heat pump & uses renewable electricity.

We donate 3% of our profits to local projects making a positive environmental & social impact through our Sustain Giving scheme.

Planting trees for every project we complete through Derbyshire County Council’s ‘Million Trees’ programme.

Using second-hand furniture in our office & saving it from landfill.

Lowering staff travel emissions by adopting a hybrid working model.

Banning single-use plastic, metal & coffee cups in our office.

Sustain Giving

Through our Sustain Giving scheme, we donate 3% of our company profits to organisations, groups and projects that make a positive environmental or social impact in our local area.

In the past five years we’ve supported sustainability and environmental projects at New Mills Community Pantry, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, New Mills Nurtures Nature Trail, New Mills Festival, Rock Mill Centre, Visit New Mills, St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy and more!

Our grants support both ongoing and one-off projects. We make the application process for funding simple and straightforward for local people to get the support they need.

Some of our recent Giving Projects

Rock Mill Centre

We provided funding to Rock Mill Centre in New Mills to purchase a swift box as part of their ‘Lost Species’ mural installation. Rock Mill Centre is a community and information centre that provides space for local community groups, visitor information, events and more.

The Lost Species mural was painted by Shaun Azrak, and features three animals, chosen from a list of ten endangered species provided by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, and voted for by the local community as the three species they’d like to see return to New Mills.

Nature New Mills

Nature New Mills is committed to support the community in helping nature recover, by protecting habitats and endangered species, and increasing the variety and abundance of wildlife.

Our grant was used to help establish the group, setting up essential elements such as insurance, a website, and holding regular community events.

New Mills Community Pantry

We were proud to provide a grant to New Mills Community Pantry. The project provides local people in need with affordable, discounted and often free food – helping to alleviate the burden of rising food costs for families and individuals.

Part of the Pantry’s stock is sourced from surplus food collection from local supermarkets. In 2023 the project has redistributed over 5,000kg of food, saving 16234kg of CO2.

The Tent People

The Tent People is a social enterprise based in the High Peak village of Hayfield. Their goal is to create vibrant community arts experiences that celebrate the great outdoors and the creative use of tents for events that are fun, educational, and inclusive.

Our grant funded the purchase of reusable cups that will be used across their events through the year – saving on waste and helping local people celebrate.

Applications for Grants

We are currently welcoming applications.

If you need funding for a sustainability, nature or social project that will protect or improve our local environment, then please consider applying for a Sustain Giving grant. You can apply at any time and all projects need to be based within the High Peak to be eligible.
